Well the race is over and I did it!!
Here's what I was thinking as I ran:
Cool Weather = Good
Overcast = Good
Wind = Bad
Hills = VERY Bad
It turned out to be a great run for me, I did it in approximately 1:04. My goal had been 1:15 and to run the entire way without walking, which I did! I guess I just wasn't sure what to expect. I will say the hills on mile 2 and 6 were a bit much. There were hills on every mile, but those 2 just stick out as being the worst. The wind was in my face most of the first 2 miles, but then it was ok after that because it kept me from being SO hot. Overall it was a GREAT experience and I'm really glad that I did it.
The other highlight was Kristin's reaction to spending the night in a hotel. I didn't realize just how excited she was until we got there. She has spent the night in a hotel one other time, but she was just a baby. It's just not something we do very often. Kristin LOVED it. We went swimming last night and just hung out in the room after that. She just had so much fun. A couple of her comments were:
"Mommy, I've never gone to sleep in a hotel before." - Friday night
"Mommy, I've never been awake in a hotel before." - Saturday morning
"Mommy, does everyone have a room like ours?" - she just wanted to make sure that everyone else in the hotel had the same kind of room.
When we got home today she was kind of sad that we didn't end up going to the bluebonnet festival (too cold and it wasn't what we thought it was going to be), but more than that she was disappointed because she wanted to sleep at the hotel another night. I told her that we'd do it again sometime and that seems to make everything ok.
When I finish my role of film, I'll have pictures to post!

Congratulations little sis. I didn't even know you were training for this. I love Kristin's reaction to the stay in the hotel.
I'm SO proud of you! I had no doubt that you'd make it. That's so cute about Kristin's reaction. Madeline has stayed in too many hotels and doesn't appreciate them. The last time we stayed in one she said, "Mommy, I don't want to go to the tell..." It was sad!
Way to go, girl!!!
