Summer recap and Awana

We've had the BEST summer I can remember as a family! We've traveled, we've gone to Sea World (twice), we've seen ALL our family on both sides - minus a niece and nephew, but that's what happens when you grow up and have to have jobs! :-( We've enjoyed our family time at home and just overall had a great time together! Now that we are home for the rest of the summer, I'm ready to put away the luggage and be in my own bed for a long time. We'll make a day trip to Victoria in September for a wedding, but other than that we are planning on being home until at least Thanksgiving if not longer! So, to say the least now I'm ready for a routine!
Randy went to school today to get a head start on things, but his room is being painted this week, so there won't be much else he can do. I'll go tomorrow to get a few more things done in my room and since they have already painted maybe I can even hang a few posters! It's crazy though, I don't really go back until the end of August! I guess I'm just ready to be teaching again.

Here's a new delima (?sp) in our lives. It's church related - surprise, surprise! I'm no longer the children's director - if you keep up with this blog at all, you already know that, but I am still in charge of our Awana program. Yesterday our children's director called me and asked if I thought it might be ok to change Awana to Sunday nights instead of Wednesday. Now, just for those that don't know, we've done Awana at our church for 7 years, 6 of those 7 have been on Wednesday night. The one year we did it on Sunday it wasn't super successful, but it was also the first year of Awana! So, I sent out an email to parents and workers to get their feed back...it's SPLIT! I mean honestly for every email that says stay on Wednesday, I get one that says lets do Sunday! Am I an idiot or what!? Why ask so many people? I'm kicking myself for even giving anyone the idea that we might go to Sunday night. I want Awana to stay on Wednesday night, but I'm not sure I have the final say in the decision even thought I'm in charge of Awana, now that I'm not on staff! There are a few more details I'd love to share, but that might be more gossipy and I don't want to do that! So, all that to say...any opinions? Not that any of my readers go to my church, but outside opinions are ok too!

Have a great day!
