A backwards blessing!
This morning I got up and had a fabulous run in the nice cool 60 degree weather. I felt great and the low humidity made it a marvelous morning to be out early. The girls got up and got ready really good, the day was going great. Then Olivia walks in our bedroom right before we were going to have our family prayer time and she was chewing on something. We have no idea what it was, but it looked a lot like toilet paper. Now, she said she got it in the bathroom, but she's not one of those kids who puts everything in her mouth. I had her spit it out or at least what was left in her mouth. We go ahead and pray and then I finish getting Kristin's hair done. In the mean time Randy has left for work and Olivia was supposed to go to the kitchen to wait for me to come get her breakfast. She comes back to the bedroom, where I'm doing hair, and says she's thrown up. I was very confused because she seemed just fine, but she keeps saying it. I walk into the living room and there it was. On Kristin's craft table, Olivia's vomit! I figured she coughed and just kind of gaged herself. I cleaned it up and we went on with our morning. Olivia wanted sausage to eat, against my better judgement I gave her some. Two bites down....two bites back up! So at 7:40 this morning my day changed - I had to call and get a sub and then finish getting Kristin ready. We took her to school and Olivia and I came home. Now all that to say, it really was a blessing for once to have a kid get sick. I got SO much done in the 3 hours Kristin was a school, and we weren't. I mopped the kitchen, paid bills, did laundry, and went to the bank! All those things would have gotten done eventually, but not in such a timely manner. Olivia is fine now! No more throw up and she's acting totally normal. We'll see if it was just a fluke this morning or if there's more to come this afternoon. Either way, it was a blessing to have a day off!
