Awana

Tonight at Awana we had crazy hair night. Let me tell you...it was crazy! I can't believe what some of these kids do. It's actually super fun and they are great! I'll post pictures once I get them into the computer.
What I was really going to write about was the council time. Once again our council time speaker didn't show up and I was put on the stop, but once again God does His thing! I wasn't sure what to do, so I decided just to play a game with the kids, something different. About 10 minutes before time for me to start speaking I was looking at our Lottie Moon bulletin board. It just hit me that our kids need to know more about our missionaries. So I got online really quick and pulled up information about Lottie Moon. Then the lady who is in charge of our missions committee was in the office and she gave me cool stuff to show the kids. It was just great to be able to share this story with the kids. They asked some really great questions and then I challeneged them to work toward getting some extra money to bring during the month of December for us to put toward our Lottie Moon offering. It was also great for me to remember the great times I had on the 3 mission trips I've taken. It's just a good reminder that there are so many missionaries all over the world sharing the good news. One of the things I asked the kids was if they could stand up and give a report on Andrew Jackson. Most of them didn't even know who it was, but some gave me a few good answers. I told them to be able to tell others about someone you have to get to know them. That's how they need to be about telling others about Christ. They need to know Him and then tell people about Him! It was just really a good talk even though I didn't plan it. It was just a good reminder to me that God can use me even when I'm not expecting it!
