Date Night with Kristin

Tonight was so much fun! I took Kristin on a date! This is something I've wanted to do for a long time, but just haven't had the time or it just wasn't the right time. So we planned this for the last couple of days. We first went to dinner at CiCi's pizza - cheap and good. We then went clothes shopping. I realized a few weeks ago when it started to get cold that Kristin had just a few things for winter. She's gotten taller since last year, so her jeans fit, but won't for much longer and she only had 3 long sleeve shirts! It doesn't get that cold down here, but she needed a few more things. The rest of our evening was spent shopping for Kristin. It was FUN - at least for me! We started at JCPenney and decided that if I wanted the most for my money that we needed to look else where. So we headed to ROSS. I'm not always fond of ROSS, but tonight we hit the jack pot. A dress, outfit, and 5 shirts later I wasn't broke! I still had a little more money, so we headed to Sears, no luck. After Kristin played on the toys for awhile then we headed to Target. I love that store, at least for their prices on little kids clothes. We got 3 more outfits and even found something for Olivia. The one special treat tonight for Kristin was a "Max and Ruby" video. I think that was her favorite part. She loved trying on clothes at first, but by the time we got to Target she said, "Do I have to try these on too?" She was tired, but when she said that, it hit me that she was not going to be my shopper! The best part of the night for me was just spending time alone with Kristin! She's such a sweet kid and sometimes I forget that because I'm always nagging her to do something. She's super smart and we have such adult conversations. I don't think many people would realize she was only 4 years old. I told her we'd do this again and she just gave me a big grin!
The other great thing about tonight was Randy got to spend some quality time with Olivia who's sometimes really difficult for him. He said they had a great time at McDonald's and she was super well behaved! What a blessing for both of us!
