Up and Down
Our church has had some real up and downs over the last 8 years. We've gone through 2 senior pastors, 2 youth pastors (1 currently still here), 2 music pastors, 3 children's directors, and a LOT of people have left and some have joined! If you were in our church 8 years ago and left and had not come back to visit you probably wouldn't know 50% of the people. It's been crazy. There have been many time Randy and I have questioned if we should leave. In fact this last summer we visited other churches, but didn't find anything that we just knew would be "home". Over the last year things got pretty rough and 2 of our pastors left. We were without a children's director for 6 months (after I resigned). All that to say....TONIGHT starts a new era for our church. The transition team meets tonight for the first time. Some may be asking what is a transition team. The best way to discribe it for me is a team of people that were chosen by the church to help the church fix itself! Not a great definition, but hopefully it helps you understand a little bit without going into too many details. I was one of the "lucky" ones chosen to be on this team. I have mixed feelings, but I'm pretty sure this is something I need to do. I don't think God would have allowed my name to be chosen if it wasn't what HE wanted to happen. So, if you read this before 7 pm Texas time on Monday, please pray for me. There are a couple people on the team that really drive me crazy, but there are 8 other people on the team that I really like. Hopefully I can deal with the 2 and enjoy the 8. I'll keep you updated!
