Weekend Update

We had a FABULOUS trip to Indiana, so I thought I'd tell you all about it.

It didn't start out so good though. We rushed to the aiport so we wouldn't miss our 5:30 flight and got there in time to be delayed 4 hours! Yes 4 hours! The thing that was the most frustrating is that the delay was not all weather related. Finally we leave about 9:30 to head to Chicago where there is a lot of snow! We get there just fine, don't have to change planes and just as people are reboarding the plane Olivia gets sick. I mean REALLY SICK! It wasn't fun at all. She ended up sleeping most of the way after having a rough time. Kristin did great. We leave Chicago and get to Indianapolis about 3:00 AM. We were glad to finally be there, but for some reason, still unknown to me, our luggage was taken off the plane in Chicago. So we are tired and have no luggage. We ended up staying (the girls slept) in the aiport until my mom came to get us around 9am. We headed to Upland and things were going ok until Kristin got sick! I was pretty upset by this time, but we were headed to my parents house and things had to get better. They did! The rest of the weekend was so fun. We played in the snow and Kristin LOVED that. Olivia wasn't so fond of it though, she just kept saying, "Mommy, I'm cold!" She's got too much Southern blood! We made a snowman and Kristin got to make snow angels. We even did a little sledding and walked on the ice on the lake across the street from my parents house.

Friday around 6 pm our luggage finally arrived, in time for us to shower and get ready for the Opera at Taylor (The Pirates of Penzance). It was AMAZING. My niece Emily is terrific. I just can't say enough of how great she is. The Opera itself was worth the trip! Then on Saturday we had a birthday party for Kristin. Cake, balloons, and presents! She just kept smiling from ear to ear! Sunday(Kristin's actual birthday) we headed back to Texas. It was a much better flight. We actually got our flight changed in Chicago to arrive much earlier than we had planned, so that was really great. On both legs of the flight the attendants were super sweet to Kristin. She got cute stuff for her birthday, including a crown made out of peanut packages. We were in the airport in time to watch the last 4 minutes of the Super Bowl - I think that was the only exciting part anyway! Overall we had a wonderful time.

Here are some pictures from the weekend:
