A lot of things have happened since my last post! Kristin is now 4! We had a big party for her on Feb. 3, her actual birthday and it was SO much fun. My sister in law and brother in law had come down for a few days before so I could go to a preschool teachers conference in Houston. I needed someone to stay with the girls, and since they are retired it worked out perfect. Then they were already here for the party. Another sister in law and nephew came in on Friday night and stayed until Sunday. Kristin had SO much fun. We had this huge blow up slide that we rented and it worked out to have the party at our church gym. She had so many friends come and got so many toys I need to have a garage sale for sure! I can't believe she's already 4, but then sometimes I have to remind myself she's only 4 and I need to treat her like a 4 year old instead of expecting so much from her.
Olivia is just a hand full! She's on some really strong antibiotics right now and we are seeing the effects. For those of you with children you know what I mean! She's doing ok though and feeling better each day. We just can't get her ears cleared up, so it's a good possibility she'll end up with tubes like Kristin did. Hopefully it won't be for awhile still, but we'll wait and see.
Randy's been working hard still and is already looking forward to Spring Break. He took on a TAKS tutorial class 2 days a week during his conference period, so that's been kind of hard. It's a little bit of extra money, but it's not worth being so tired and always feeling like you can't get ahead. It only last through next week, so I know he'll be glad when it's done.
For me, well I'm SO excited that the COLTS won the Super Bowl. It was a great day to be from Indiana! There is a guy from Angleton, Gilber Gardner, that plays for the Colts. There were lots of people around here cheering for Indy! I'm glad my mom is willing to buy me a shirt and hat because it's hard to find anything around here with Colts on it. I still enjoy teaching and am looking forward to doing it again next fall. I thought about applying at the local Christian school, but have always said I wouldn't go back to full time teaching until at least Olivia was in kindergarden, so I decided to just wait. I might actually like just working part time when my kids are in school, but if I could get a job at the Christian school and my kids could go for a reduced rate, I might really like that too.
The biggest news is that our music pastor and his wife are leaving our church. It's super great for them and it really sucks for our church. There have been some real conflict between this family and our senior pastor and his wife. I wish it could have been worked out, but when one side tries to seek forgiveness, but the other side says, "We forgive you, BUT we'll always see you through rose colored glasses," that's not true forgiveness. There are a lot of trust issues in our church right now and things are just really tough. I told Kristin today that Madeline, music pastor's daughter, is moving and Kristin just busted into tears! I felt terrible for her, so I just held her and cried with her! The pastor's wife, Lindsey, and I are really good friends and it just stinks they are moving. The good thing is they are only going about an hour away, but still it's going to be a lot different without them. Our church just needs a lot of prayer, so if you think about pray for us.
It's almost Valentine's Day, I got Randy a card today. I bet he doesn't get me one until Wednesday night! No big deal, we aren't getting gifts for each other. We bought an MP3 instead and we both use it, so that's our gift! We'd love to go out on a real date, but that takes money and time and we are short on both of those things right now, so I guess dinner at church and Awana will be how we spend our Valentine's Day!
