The Weekend

It's finally Friday! This feels like such a long week for some reason. We didn't have Monday off like most normal people. Because Texas is the great state of the TAKS test - school testing - and it just happened to be scheduled by the state on Tuesday, our district decided to make our kids to go school on Presidents Day. Now, I can't really complain since our kids did have 2 1/2 weeks off for Christmas. That's not the case next year, but we'll deal with that when it happens.

I have a few things planned for this weekend. First tonight when my husband finally gets home from work, I'm going to run! We are both working on getting ready for a half marathon. Now the race isn't until Jan. 08, but since I'm not a very good long distance runner, I've started getting ready already. I ran 5 miles last Saturday in 53 minutes and felt pretty good about it. My long runs are usually on Saturday, but it's supposed to rain tomorrow, so I'll probably do it tonight instead, maybe 55 or 60 minutes - how ever far that takes me!

Tomorrow Kristin has a birthday party to go to. The 3 birthday party this month, one was hers of course. I need to stock up on Discovery Toys again because we go to a LOT of birthday parties, and of course Kristin LOVES it! Then tomorrow night, the woman's ministry at our church is hosting a scrapbooking night. I don't scrapbook, but I do have a lot of pictures. It's going to be a lot of fun. We are hoping for at least 60 ladies to come. It should be a great time. Then Sunday of course church, usually one of my favorite things to do on Sunday, but not right now. We are just waiting on the Lord to show us what we need to do. Hopefully there will be some more changes and we'll stay right where we are, but if there aren't some more changes, then after May, we will look else where! Sunday evening we are having a going away gathering for our music pastor and his family. Tomorrow is their last Sunday, it will be sad! They are moving next week sometime, hopefully, if they can close on their new home. So this weekend will be busy for me, it's kind of nice though because that means I won't be bored!

This is a picture of the music pastor's daughter and little boy. My girls Kristin, with glasses, and Olivia on right are such good friends with Madeline.
