Ok, it's official! I've signed up to run a 10K in April. It's called the Blue Bell Fun Run in Brenham, Texas. Ok, for those of you not from TX, Blue Bell is a famous ice cream - how ironic is it that an ice cream company sponsors a Fun Run, and why are they called Fun Runs anyway. I'm not so sure it's going to be fun, but I'm going to do it. I don't even really care what my time is, it's more just the idea of finishing. My goal for this year was to run a 10K and I might accomplish it before the year is even half over!
I've been training, but now I can't quit. Somedays I really don't feel like getting up, like this morning, but I did it. 3 miles in 30 minutes. Tomorrow is a non-running training day, so that always is a bit easier. Thursday is another run day and then Saturday, we'll be out of town with family, so hopefully I can still find an hour to go for a long run.
My farthest run has been 5.6 miles, and the 10K is 6.2, just in case you didn't know. So I have a month to go a little farther. I'll have to go at least 7 miles before the race so 6.2 won't seem so far!
