We had a really nice time with Randy's family. We left Friday mid day and had an easy trip to get there. The girls slept and Randy and I were able to have an adult conversation without being interupted over and over! We just hung out Friday evening with family. The girls love playing with their cousin Gary. He's a 7th grader now and just as sweet as can be.
Saturday I was going to run in a 5K, but didn't have an extra $20 with me, so I decided just to run on my own. I didn't realize just how cold it was and only had shorts to wear. Oh well. I went about 5.5 miles in 57 minutes. I was hoping to run 6 miles, but there are a lot more hills in Floresville than in Angleton, and the cold and wind were something else. I'll hopefully be able to do 6 miles this coming weekend. Saturday we went to Luke's basketball game, that's the main reason we went this weekend. Then we just had some fun around the house and at the park. It was a cool, sunny, breezy day and the girls played outside as much as possible. Then Saturday night we went to a high school softball game. It was a lot of fun to watch and it brought back so many great memories of my high school softball days!
Sunday was church. It was a nice service, but when I went to pick Olivia up from the nursery I found out she cried the entire time. I was not happy. My nephew Gary had tried to go and comfort her and he wasn't aloud to. I understand the rules and appreciate them, but I wasn't happy that they didn't make some kind of effort to come and get me. I didn't realize just how important our pager system is at our church. I know that if we leave our church, I'll really inspect the nursery at every church until we find a good one.
We came home Sunday evening to find a water leak in our front yard. I was just greatful it was the cities problem and not ours. They came and fixed it today and now our front yard is a mess. Oh well, it will get back to normal eventually. We also have some kind of leak in one of our walls. Not sure what we are going to do about it, but I'll make some phone calls tomorrow.
When we think things are going well something always happens. Isn't that pretty much how our lives are. I'm just so greatful that through every situation God is in Control!
