This day always brings back such memories for me. I was teaching social studies when the first plane hit and then during my second period conference I went to the library to watch and there it was the second plane and then the towers when down. It was SO awful to watch! I remember seeing President Bush's face when he got the news, he was getting ready to read to a classroom full of students. I remember calling my mom from my school phone, I didn't even care if it was long distance. I remember wondering if my brother, who's in the air force, would have to go to war, I remember wondering if my friend Shari who works in NYC was ok, I remember wondering what in the world is going on in our precious USA. I know I watched for hours and hours the coverage of that day and the days to follow. I remember talking with my students about it, and letting them come to my computer to see the pictures. It was an amazing teaching time, but it was also a difficult time. The kids were scared that we would go to war and that another attack would happen, we had lots of parents come pick up their children, I'm sure if I would have had kids then I'd have done the same thing. I remember seeing the faces of the men and women in NYC and the pain they must have suffered. I remember the plane hitting the pentagon (where my brother is currently working). I remember the plane that went down in PA!
