Taking it down

Today was take down day. I put everything away, the tree, the lights, the snowmen (except the one in the front yard) and now the house looks a little bit more normal. I don't think my house is ever normal, but those of you with children know there is always something to pick up! Olivia was watching me take down the tree and was not at all happy. She started crying and said, I want Christmas back. She didn't get it and didn't like the idea of not having the tree in the living room. Kristin said maybe we should leave the tree up all year. I said then we wouldn't be able to have fun decorating it next year. That was enough to convince Kristin, but Olivia still didn't get it. It just reminded me again that we should really celebrate Christmas everyday in our hearts.
We want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year and hope that 2008 will bring many special blessings to each and everyone. We will head to a party tonight with our Sunday School class. I'm sure I'll probably be in bed before midnight, but maybe I'll make it this year. What are your plans for New Year's Eve??
