Disney Credit Card

I'm having a dilemma and thought I'd post it here to see if I got any advice. I know we won't be going to Disney World for at least a year and a half if not longer, but I've thought about applying for a Disney Reward Credit Card. Does anyone else have one? I don't know all the details, but am pretty sure the more we use it the more reward points I get to use toward a Disney Vacation! We use our credit card all the time, but always pay it off. I figure why not change companies and start earning rewards! What do my blog readers think?

Hi! Found your blog via Krista Layman. I have a Disney Credit Card. If you will be planning a trip to Disney, definately the way to go. We are going to go this year and have over $900 in free cash to use towards our trip. We can use it to help pay for the trip, or get it on a rewards card and use it for food, souvenirs, etc while we're there. Go for it, you won't be mistaken. Plus it's a cute card!

around here a lot of people have BASS PRO Shops rewards cards. they do what you're wanting to do. they pay it off each month and earn big points they can use to by stuff at Bass Pro. Even if it's a couple of years away you are saving money while doing your day to day living.

Anne - You need to do your research on this one. I have found that you may want to get the Disney card so that you can take advantage of the free $40 they are giving right now along w/ the 10-20% discount on some items from Downtown Disney. And as far as purchases go, you may be better off using one of the cash back cards like one of the one's from Chase where you get 2-3% back on your purchases - then save this money each month to apply toward your Disney vacation. Whatever you do, make sure that you read the fine print on your credit card offers. Best to your Disney adventure. Darrell/Staci

Hi Anne. Yes, we have one and it has been awesome (we do the same thing.... use it for everything but pay it off every month)!!! We have taken a few trips to Disney and have never paid for our park passes (thankfully, Scott was able to put a few "business" expenses on it that added up quickly). The one big tip I have is to make sure that you call to request your Disney Rewards card about 2 months before you actually make the trip; that way, you're sure to have it in hand when you go (you can pick it up at Downtown Disney if you forget.... but it's just easier to "order" it ahead of time and have them mail it to you).

Another idea: we actually just switched to a Chase Freedom card because the rewards are better.... cash back up to 3% on groceries, gas, etc., and we plan to use the $$ for vacations, too. I would highly recommend it.... once you earn $200 in rewards, you can actually call in and receive a check for $250. It's awesome!
