Quiet Strength
Randy got the book Quiet Strength for Christmas from my parents. Randy loves sports, but is not a big reader. My mom thought this might be a good book for him anyway! If you don't know, this book is by Tony Dungy, the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts. So, I'm a big Colts fan and an even bigger reading fan. I usually read Christian Fiction, Laurie Wick and Terri Blackstock are a couple favorite authors. I don't usually like nonfiction too much, but decided this would be a good change for me. So knowing Randy wouldn't have time to read until we took our plane trip next weekend to Indiana, I started the book awhile ago. I finally finished it today! It is an awesome book. I had a lot of respect for Coach Dungy before reading this book and even before the Colts won the Super Bowl last year, but after reading this book it made me respect him even more. He is a man that puts God and family WAY before football, but still loves his job and does it well. He's been through much adversity in his life and continues to give praise to God for every situation. If you need to be encouraged in anway, this is a book well worth the read. Even if you don't like football, you should take the time to read it! I think that every father needs to read this book for sure, but it's good for mom's too. If you have already read this book, let me know what you think.

I got it for my dad for his b-day, but as it turns out, so did two other people! So, I told him he could give it back to me for Christmas. I read it in about 2-3 days b/c it was soooo good. I'm sure I cried at some parts, but it is very encouraging. It's esp. neat b/c we got to meet him right before their big Superbowl win. What an awesome role model! Tim has it now out at the academy..I'm sure he will love it too.
